Her Highness is Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, whose flagship project is envisioned as a Center of Excellence in education and research, transforming Qatar into a knowledge-based society through investments in human capital, innovative technology, health system as well as social development. Furthermore, she is the Vice Chair of the Supreme Council of Health, Chairperson of Sidra training Medical and Research Centre for women and children, and she also served as the Vice Chair of the Supreme Education. Sheikha Moza has launched projects including the International Fund for Higher Education in Iraq and the Silatech initiative for youth right to education in conflict-affected areas and employment in the Middle East and North Africa. She was appointed as UNESCO’s Special Envoy for Basic and Higher Education and as Alliance of Civilizations (AOC) Ambassador and she also became a member of the UN Millennium Development Goals Advocacy Group. She was awarded the prestigious Chatham House Award and was inducted into the Academie des Beaux Arts de l'Institut de France. She graduated from Qatar University in sociology and has been awarded honorary doctorates from Virginia Commonwealth University, Texas A&M University, Carnegie Mellon University, Imperial College London and Georgetown University.
